Where’s the most Saltee Med destination in 2019?

You got it. Mykonos is again the Med destination that puts the others in the shade when it comes to hot beaches, hotter beach clubs and the Saltee-st people. Make like you are part of the Jetset even if it’s just for the weekend. Pack your party dresses, glitziest beachwear and of course your Saltee and let us tell you what needs to be on your hit list for the ultimate long weekend.

Grab a cool base for the weekend, but where?

Accommodation standards are almost as high as the prices in Mykonos with even the smallest boutique hotel displaying great service, a stunning view and lots (and lots) of white soft furnishings. Amongst the sea of premium options Saltee’s favourite spots are the Branco and the San Giorgio hotels, both occupy fantastic beach locales and provide that attentive but laid-back service that floats our boat.

Come lunch with me matters in Mykonos.

Once you’ve settled into your chosen hotel the next task is to decide on which of the many amazing lunch spots you want to venture to. Saltee’s favourites are the evergreen Kikis Tavern, where you can swim in the clearest water whilst your lunch date keeps your place in the queue. The chic Principote is a beach club cum resto that always has great people watching and then there is Spilla, carved into a rock and beloved of the yacht crowd.
That being said Saltee’s preferred arrival is on the back of a rental scooter across the sun parched scrub to the far end of the island. Mykonos is small enough and can be plagued by hellish traffic in high season so scootering is definitely our tip to get around. The next door beach at Agia Anna is worth a dip too for its crystal clear water.

Sundowner tips please Saltee?

Long lunch complete and had your post swim siesta it’s time to shower, put your evening vibe fashion on and hit the cobbled streets of Mykonos town. Don’t miss out on a sundowner at the 180 ̊ Sunset Bar which has great views over town.

How about evening options for the perfect party weekend?

On the dining scene new entrants come and go but seasoned regulars still always make at least one excursion to Interni, where the central bar area makes for fun viewing – ask to be seated in one of the surrounding restaurant’s tables. For great food and a more laid back vibe Kalita is fabulous with Nikko’ s taverna also a favourite with good fresh seafood displayed every day.

Where next with Saltee?

Once you’ve hit the hot spots, selected your favourite beach and enjoyed a feta salad by the shore it’ll be time to head home. Tell us where you are going to repack your Saltee for the next adventure.
