Travel planning: A step ahead, with Scott Williams!

Did you know that in the world of villa holidays, it’s usual for holidaymakers to book their following year’s holiday, before they’ve even left their holiday house this year?  No, nor did we, but that’s just one thing we’ve learnt chatting to villa specialist Scott Williams, who explained that villa holidaymakers are some of the earliest holiday bookers around.

With that in mind, and with over 250 outstanding villas in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Morocco, as well as a new UK collection, we’ve asked the team to share some of their favourites, so you can get ahead of the crowd!  Whoever you wish to holiday with next, here are some of Scott Williams’ favourie houses to suit those travelling with teenagers, toddlers, grandparents or friends – and even one suggestion of a whole hamlet to host everyone!  Named by Conde Nast Traveller as one of the UK’s top ten villa companies in 2020, read on to get ahead of the crowd and plan your next travel adventure!

Best for… toddlers

Quite simply the only villa the Scott Williams team has ever seen with its own soft play playroom, young families join the rush each year to secure a coveted week at Tesoro, which also comes complete with a trampoline, ping pong table, beautiful pool and more games, books and dvds than any small child could work through in a week! Set in beautiful Umbrian countryside, there’s plenty to see and do nearby, or simply stay put and relax within the super-stylish interiors.

Best for… grandparents

Three generational villa holidays have never been more popular as we seek to spend time with those we’ve most missed, and some of Scott Williams’ most popular houses are those that come complete with a separate cottage or annex, allowing everyone to have their own space, but come together for meals and fun.  On Corfu, a great option is Agnos House, which sleeps up to 16 in the main house, with space for an additional two in Little Agnos, the house’s recently and stylishly converted olive press.  Set in beautiful gardens designed by Jennie Gay, the grounds are full of fruit trees including peach, lemon, orange and fig, and the views out over the Ionian Sea will have you dreaming of Corfu long after your return.

Best for… couples

A rare villa option for just two, The Stone House on Corfu lays claim as Scott Williams’ most popular bolthole for two.   With your own pool, gardens, terrace and sitting room, there is nothing missing at this beautiful house, which is as popular out of season, as within the main summer months.  Escape here to walk, lounge, read or bask in the summer sun – The Stone House is designed for pure relaxation.

Best for… a break with friends

Longing to escape the house and for precious, child-free time with your friends?  Then why not book a friends escape to look forward to in Morocco?  Dar Arabella is a great option, offering six indulgent bedrooms, stunning gardens, a huge pool with sumptuous sunloungers, and with a beautiful roof terrace complete with Atlas Mountain views – the perfect backdrop for evening drinks.  The house comes complete with a cook who will prepare three meals a day, and the city of Marrakech is just a 20 minute drive away, offering vibrant shopping, narrow Medina streets to explore, and delicious restaurants.

Best for… taking everyone along

More a hamlet than a villa, Le Grand Banc is the perfect reunion pad, sleeping up to 24 in 10 individual houses.  Set along its own private cobbled street with gorgeous stone houses set side by side, each house sleeps between two and five, with each house unique – some with their own kitchen, one with a library and another with a fabulously funky bunk room for kids.  There’s plenty to entertain, with a pool, table tennis and table football, or ebikes can be hired locally to explore, and at the end of each day, everyone can come together around the outside marble table that can seat up to 28.

Best for… a staycation

And for those looking for something on these shores, then how about your very own Somerset countryside pad for the week?  Sleeping up to 11 in six bedrooms, The Rectory is a beautiful Georgian home – surrounded by pretty gardens and verdant countryside, there’s space for children to run free, while interiors combine antique and contemporary furniture to create a mood that’s rock ‘n’ roll, with some seriously cool art.  Offering a sense of fun, there’s a snooker room, fabulous lime green TV room perfect for teenage movie nights and a beautiful dining room that feels like an orangerie, with huge sash windows and French doors.  Located in the village of Mells, Soho House members have Babington House on their doorstep and the popular Talbot Inn is a short walk away, and the towns of Frome (10 mins drive), Bruton (20 mins) and Bath (30 mins) are also within easy reach.

Founded in 2007 and based in the fashionable town of Bruton, Scott Williams offers over 250 outstanding villas in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Morocco, as well as a new UK collection, with accolades include being named by Conde Nast Traveller in 2020 as one of the UK’s top ten villa companies.  A flexible booking policy offers reassurance for holiday bookings in 2021 and to find out more visit www.scottwilliams.co.uk or call the team a call on 01749 812721.
